I am a journalist and all-round storyteller interested in human rights, conflict, women & child rights, arts & culture and the intersection of all these with history and everyday living. My words and photographs have appeared in leading international media including Financial Times, Reuters, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Forbes Africa, The Times, Quartz, Huffington Post and The Africa Report.
I have received grants and fellowships to support my writing from the Prince Claus Fund for Culture & Development and Africa-China Reporting Project of the University of Witswatersrand. Recognition for my work has come in the form of nominations and awards including the CNN Africa Multichoice Journalist Awards and The Future Awards Africa Prize for Journalism.
